Software Wedge is an ingenious siftware product that allows any data received from a PC's RS232 port to be input directly into any application program that accepts keyboard input. Such programs as spreadsheets, databases and word processors can be used to create customised analysis of data without expensive dedicated software.
	Software Wedge The Standard versions of Software Wedge are for simple ASCII output devices and work with all instruments in our System Synergy range of products. The Professional versions can communicate with any serial instrument and have all the advanced benefits listed on the following page.
Software Wedge for Windows - Standard version features: Input gauge and instrument data directly into Excel, Lotus, Access, statistical software, etc...any Windows, DOS, Windows 95 or NT application. Transfers serial data quickly, absolutely accurately, and preformatted to your exact specifications. Extremely easy to use with a simple men-driven set-up. No programming! Suports all COM ports available in Windows 3.x. Maybe installed for upt to 9 ports on a single PC. Data parsing and filtering capabilities allow the splitting of incoming data or ignoring of unwanted data. Program 'buttons' to send out data strings or commands to serial devices or prompt by lowering DTR. Transfers serial data to the application program either as 'keystroke messages' or by Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE). In keystrokes mode, keystrokes can be added before or after data for correct placement within application program. The DDE support allows the creation of powerful data collection and device control interfaces in any DDE supporting Windows application (i.e. MS Excel) Automatic date and time stamping. Place date and time stamps directly within serial input data. Timed automatic prompting . Winwedge can automatically transmit prompt strings at regulat intervals. Fully selectable communication parameters. Allows simples and duplex control for opto instruments. A powerful serial data analyser feature allows the previewing of data from the serial device.
The Software Wedge for Windows captures data from your PC's serial port, custom tailors it to our specifications, and then transfers it to any Windows 3.0 or higher application that you specify. This means that data from your instrumet appears in any Windows application just as if it were typed in at the keyboard.

As with the standard versions of Wedge, the Professional version is compatible with any environment - DOS, Windows, Windows 95 or NT. The Pro version is designed to collect data from and control any serial device, no matter how long and complex or sophisticated the requirements are.

Software Wedge for Windows - Pro version additional features:

Supports all COM ports under Windows and all available IRQs. May be installed for up to nine ports.
Powerful math and string functions. Apply division, square roots, trig etc... functions to incoming data.
Optional "Hot Key" control of all WinWedge functions. Define standard keys to send out data.
A disk file logging mode. Allows data to be collected to a disk file while working on the other programs.
Place a "Serial Outout Buffer" directly into any application that supports DDE, eg a spreadsheet cell.
FileWedge is provided free with the Pro Wedge. Sends data from a disk file as keystrokes or by DDE into any Windows application.

Pro 32 bit version - all the features of the 16 bit Pro version plus:

Designed for use with Windows 95 and NT. Supports for up to 99 serial ports simultaneously.
Multiple applications may be open and receiving data simultaneously from many different instruments.
Native 32 bit processing power that takes adavantage of the latest microprocessors and serial ports.
TCP/Wedge is provided free with the Pro 32 Wedge. Allows communication with a TCP/IP port address directly from within any Windows 95 and NT application program. Input data directly from any device, an intranet or the internet.
