USE:
Use as supplied.

APPLICATION: When added at 10% to Hydrochloric Acid pickling tanks, Blackfast 500 assists in the removal of oil, grease and hydrophobic products which are released from a metal surface during the pickling operation. In addition, Blackfast 500 increases the water washability enabling subsequent important stages of water rinsing to be more efficient.

Blackfast 500 surfactant is part of the Blackfast range of products for the chemical blacking of iron and steel at room temperature.

Blackfast Chemicals continues to improve the quality and performance of its range of products and reserves the right to modify product formulations without prior notice.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

INHALATION:Remove to fresh air. Seek medical aid if necessary.
INGESTION: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Gargle, rinse mouth and drink large amounts of water. Seek immediate medical aid.
SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with plenty of water. If irritation develops, seek medical aid.
EYES: Flush with clean water immediately for 10 minutes. Seek medical aid

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Non flamrnable but will support combustion. Use water fog, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, alcohol resistant foam as extinguishing media. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
Decomposition products: Oxides of Carbon.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:: Use ventilated area.
ENVIRONMENTAL: Prevent entry into drains, sewers and water courses.
SPILLAGE: Absorb liquid in absorbent clay granules. Dispose via and authorised contractor. Product can be absorbed in suitable material and incinerated.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wear impervious (PVC) gloves and eye protection. Store in clean, dry conditions. Prevent from freezing.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

Occupational Exposure Limits: None.
Personal protection: Wear impervious (PVC) gloves, eye protection and plastic apron.
Remove contaminated clothing immediately.

Prolonged or repeated exposure to skin may lead to absorption and skin irritation. Contact with eyes may cause severe irritation with corneal injury which may be slow to heal.

Disposal must be in accordance with local and national legislation. Dispose through an authorised waste contractor to a licensed site.
