USE: As supplied
APPLICATION: Ensure surface is
physically and chemically clean by removing all traces
of oil and grease (use Blackfast 716 cold alkaline degreaser)
and all traces of rust and scale (use Blackfast 513 acid
pickle) followed by rinsing in water.
Apply Blackfast 182 cream direct to
a wet surface and leave for 5 - 10 minutes. Wipe with
a damp cloth or wash with water. Repeat the application
if blacking is incomplete or uneven. Immerse in a dewatering
oil (use Blackfast 833) to ensure protection against corrosion.
If cream begins to separate on storage,
stir and allow to reset before use.
Blackfast 182 blacking cream is part
of the Blackfast range of products for the chemical blacking
of iron and steel at room temperature.

INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. Seek
medical aid.
INGESTION: Gargle, rinse mouth and drink plenty of water.
Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical aid.
SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin with
plenty of water. Seek medical aid.
EYES: Flush with clean water immediately for 10 minutes.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Non flammable. Will not support combustion.
Decomposition products: Oxides of Carbon, Phosphorus,
Selenium, Chlorine and Chlorine Oxides.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS: When dealing with
a spill note the recommendations in Section 7.
ENVIRONMENTAL: Prevent entry into drains, sewers and water
courses.
SPILLAGE: Absorb liquid in absorbent clay granules.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Avoid inhaling the vapour. Avoid contact
with skin and eyes. Store in clean, dry conditions. Keep
container closed and ensure label intact and legible.
Prevent from freezing.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Occupational Exposure Limits:
Selenium Compound (as Se) 8 hr TWA 0.1 mgm-3 (EH 40/94).
Personal protection: Wear impervious (PVC) gloves, eye
protection and plastic apron. Remove contaminated clothing
immediately.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Solution is stable under normal conditions.
Avoid temperatures above 400C and below 50C. Irritant
gases may be released above 500C. Avoid sources of ignition.

The following toxicological information
is based on the toxicity of the products principal hazardous
component - Selenium Compound. Local contact may cause
irritation of the skin and mucous membranes. Inhalation
may cause coughing. Ingestion may cause vomiting and diarrhoea.

Disposal must be in accordance with
local and national legislation. Dispose through an authorised
