| The ECX
Collet system uses single angle collets which are
available in metric sizes, and can accommodate a range
of 0.5mm on bores under 3mm and 1mm on larger diameter
bores (except ECX 50). |
The Double
Angle Collet system utilizes the double angle collets
which are available in metric sizes, by 0.5mm increments,
or imperial sizes in 1/64" increments. Each collet
can accommodate a 0.5mm dia collapse. |
| The YCC
Collet system finds general application in driven/live
tooling of Japanese origin. They can easily be mistaken
for ECX types and are not interchangeable. They are
available in metric sizes. |
The Supergrip
Collet system utilizes the single angle collets which
are again available in metric sizes by 0.5mm increments
and imperial sizes in 1/64" increments. Each collet
can accommodate a 0.4mm dia collapse. |
| DIN 6388
Collets are used in milling and drilling applications
in equipment of European origin. They are available
in metric sizes. |
The R8 Collet
is specific to Bridgeport and similiar types of milling
machines. They are used for general purpose milling
and drilling operations. R8 Collets are available
in imperial and metric milling cutter sizes. |
| DIN 6345
Rubberflex Collets are used in tapping heads to centralize
and retain taps. The mechanism is provided with a
separate driver to transmit the cutting torque. They
are also used in some toolholders for light duty drilling
applications. They are available in metric sizes. |
